Born to Step and Band, this black boy out of a litter of seven was born on July 13. A well-behaved lad who exhibits a quiet curiousity about the world he lives in. I expect him to mature to about 3 lbs, and be a very steady fellow. He's a fine little holland lop and should prove to be a good bunny for his new person.
Off Step and Band, this July 13 Holland Lop boy was part of a litter of seven.
He is the darker of the two broken torts, but I actually think this fellow might be a tricolour with a fair amount of smut. Either way, he'll be a handsome fellow when he matures. I expect he'll finish at just shy of 3.5 lbs.
This silly girl pulled an extra nest of fur this morning leaving me all excited, only to discover an empty nest of fur. What a bummer.
Later in the day she decided to surprise me with a litter of seven. Five normal, one small and one hinting at the double dwarf gene. Time will tell. Hopefully this litter will contain a kit I want to hold back.
Watch Me Grow
Sweet Boys new owner came to pick him up today. This lovely even-tempered lad was starting to win my heart since he's such a good boy. :) But he has new hearts to win over now which is the best!
He was born on April 9, 2020, to Step and Calypso. His colour is black Japanese. He is a purebred Holland Lop.
His name is now Nico. Doesn't he look all handsome in his new digs? :)
Step and Calypso produced this little girl on April 9.
SideStep is very much like her momma with just a hint more confidence that she inherited from her dad.
Now called Mabel, she's been placed with a colony of rabbits. Which admittedly has me extremely going GAH I don't like this. But everyone raises rabbits differently. But the lack of quarantine and she's just a baby.... Has me feeling very nervous.
A little girl lost her beloved bunny, heartbreak is hard. But new bunnies help ease the pain. These two black boys off Step and Calypso born April 9 have gone to live on a farm.
One I think has already been named Midnight, the other? His name will come. :)
Little Mr. Tricolour off Step and Calypso born April 9 went off to his new home tonight. His people live in London. He's a good boy, a curious, somewhat serious lad.
Some pictures from his people.
Hoping Step does a better job with this litter than the last, she's in a cage she likes better so I have high hopes. Six viable kits, one odd ball DOA. A pretty good nest, just needed some straw supplementing.
Watch Me Grow
Seven kits, one DOA. It was funny, I warned Step she needed to have babies or she'd be on the culling list. I turned around and she started kindling! :) Funny little doe. Made a marvellous nest with tons of fur, needed a bit of supplementing at the base due to lots of straw cleaned out as she kindled.
Ditzy first time mom issues. All kits died. She didn't feed them.
I have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards.
For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
