Olive has a home

so when I first got into showing rabbits a lady who breeds mini rex was extremely helpful to me.

So when Olive became a sweet yet confident young lady with gorgeous colouring I was shocked when she didn't find a home. When it came time to make some final decisions about who will stay and who won't I thought, why don't I offer this lass up to this rabbit lady?

So off she went! She's a lovely girl with a great temperament and I think will offer something fun for her "just for fun breeding project with her hollands". She's off Jenny and Caper.

A brother went to a pet home and a sister (Happy) was retained for my herd. All are black/orange tricolours.

three bunnies new homes

I have to apologize. Normally I will do up a separate post for each new home for one of my bunnies. BUT.....

We've had a MAJOR snowstorm hit us. Like HUGE and between battling snow and life busyness putting together a post about bunnies rehomed got put on the backburner.

My apologies to my bunny people. I'm sorry I was neglectful.

Anyways, three bunnies homed.

This Sept 13 babe off Neela and Wasp was born into a litter of six. Four of these youngsters made it through to weaning. Colours in the litter were white, harlequin (like this girlie), black, and broken black. This little girl SHOULD lop her ears by the time she is a year old, but since this is her momma's first litter I have no experience with how she will progress. She's a calm youngster, which is much like her momma. I expect she'll mature to be a small, easy going lass.

Next to leave was this darling soft-tempered boy off Jenny and Caper. He's been a mild-mannered youngster his entire life, so much like his Papa that way. Part of a litter of five, one sibling was still born. Big little poppers, I expected them all to be tricolour and wasn't at all surprised that they were.

Mama came up to my rabbitry from Pennsylvania so she traveled a long way to help create this beautiful boy. A sibling is going to stay in my rabbitry, so I'm delighted this fellow has a new place to be. He's been named Ralphie.

Next to leave is this eager explorer. I knew he was a buck from the moment he was first to hop out of the nestbox. He's always been the first to notice something new, to dig into new food, and to get into trouble. One day I found him stuck in the feeder. I DON'T know how he managed it but he hollered loudly about it. He was rescued and was much more careful after that! (and the feeder was made untrappable). I never would have figured it possible. :) I HOPE he is not creating havoc in his new place. I do fully expect him to make his new people laugh.

Oh, like the boy above he's the offspring of Jenny and Caper. A beautiful black/orange tricolour. He left with the name Buzz.

Raising up four kits, and three days later she had another that was born dead. There was a mystery kit that I don't think is hers based on it's size and colour, but I dunno. Weird things happen. She made a tremendously well furred nest, enough that I took some away from the kits so they don't overheat.
