Pria and Arrow produced a litter of four kits. Not a very good nest but fur was pulled and an attempt was made.

Miss Ascot surprised me. Normally she has her kits, then pulls wads of fur. Today, tons of fur pulled, no kits.. I was a bit concerned as she acting all protective doe-like which she always does for two weeks post kindle. I come in later to find her in the box kindling. She pushed out 10 kits, one of which was DOA, but nine dark kits growing. Hopefully one of the bucks will be a keeper!

Initially I was disappointed with this litter from Webb thinking she only had two. Later on I discovered two tiny kits tucked away in a different spot. I placed them all together for the sake of warmth. Two light, one broken, one dark.

Chia built a horrible nest, but has four healthy babies in a neat pile. I added a touch of fur to the nest and the babies were comfy cosy. Now to see if this first time mom cares for her littles. Four agouti kits.

I was starting to think that Frosty had missed when she surprised me with a well-made nest with 11 kits tucked inside. Her kits vary widely in size which I find very interesting. I hope they pull through as some are very tiny.

All are light in colour.

So Webb made this huge nest, and I was expecting a bundle of kits, but.....it took me a while to find these two big, bruised up kits tucked into a very small corner of the nestbox.

Webb persisted in sitting in the box and the kits weren't looking very good so I fostered them over to Speck. I'm not sure if they will stay with her or if I'll be doing some juggling around.

So it's been a while since I've had this happen with a doe. Speck kindled one kit early May 4. Probably born dead, she worked on removing it. I thought hmm.. odd for her to only have one kit, and thought to take out the nestbox but rethought that idea.

I came out later that afternoon to find six kits in the box in a well-made tidy nest.
