These two boys are off to a home in Ingersoll to be well cared for pets in very animal friendly household (but no pet spiders as they are the only animal not appreciated by certain members of the family).
My Pin is off to a new home today.
She's going to be living the very life of luxury. in a week she'll be spayed, and then she'll become a companion rabbit to Peppy (a young buck I sold about a year back). She's just a tiny very quiet girlie who never raises a fuss, just didn't produce the quality of kits I hoped for. So off to luxury for My Pin. :) Came home yesterday to 9 new wee ones in the guinea pig run. Exactly who belongs to whom.. I made educated guesses. Thinking that Daisy here had four pups with Kettle having four due to size of bellies during pregnancy. Could be wrong though, so it's all just a guess. Watch me GrowLogos off Butterscotched x Aero bar in Feb 23, 2013 decided being a mom was totally optional so I sent her off to a London pet home. This April baby off Holly and Reacher is off to a home with three children in Delaware. This april girl off holly and roger went to a new home in London today. She got a touch too hot in the car on the journey there so I took some time to watch her a bit when we got on location.
Here are some pictures of Anna and Elsa's new pig pen. I had to close it in as my daughter has cats. I use the baby bath tub when I have the gps out so I don't get peed on. I thought I'll use the cage for them to eat, drink and pee and the pig pen for playing. Don't they look content and safely protected from the cat? :)
Other reasons to cull
I am very sad to have to tell you that my Biscuit is no longer with us. Let me speak to you a bit about my girl Biscuit. She was a rabbit if she had belonged to anyone else I would have said.. cull her. Don't keep temperamental rabbits, they aren't worth it. And here I was, a lady who breeds for good tempered rabbits, with one that needed minding when dealing with her. An excellent momma rabbit, she was very watchful over her kits. I built this cage just for her you know. She disliked other rabbits with a fierce intensity and for the first two years of her being a mom, I needed to remove her kits from her when they were five weeks old as she simply wanted them gone and she wanted to be bred again. No messing around... GET THEM OUT. After I built this cage for her she mellowed. She had lots of room. She had no other rabbits around. She was queen of her castle and she was happy. She liked me. She liked my boy. She had an appreciation for my hubby. She was my dearly appreciated watchbunny and she will be sorely missed. I need to find me a good a strong prickly lettuce plant to put over her burial site. My, but she loved prickly lettuce. almost as much as grain. Biscuit developed what I believe to be cancer. She had two lumps on her chest that grew. They gave no indication of being abscesses. She was losing weight and just generally a grumpy lass lately. Over the past week the smaller lump grew, the larger lump was sloughing off tissue and she was just looking poorly. She normally ran 11-12 lbs and at time of death was 8 lbs. She was clearly not well.
She no longer suffers and this is good. This doe kit off Cyan and Blaze off to a new home in St. Thomas. This boy off Nutmeg x Corbin Born April 4, off to a home in Guelph. while the boy above and this lad below are in a new home in Kitchener. While I was in Kitchener I picked up seven new cages at Bunnyview. tomorrow I hope to get them all put together and then up into racks built just for them. Joyce is an easy lady to deal with and is currently running a discount of 10% because of the show she has coming up.

AuthorI have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards. For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
