Too many bucks and Arrow could be stubborn about winter breeding. He's a warm weather loving bunny. :) But perhaps a new locale in a warm shed will do him good. :)
Arrow has moved off to live in Sadler's bunny Barn. Paul contacted me early this week looking for a rabbit. So we worked out a deal for him to take Arrow on.

An August 22 boy, from a litter of three, from Pria and Arrow. A solidly nice boy. He's found himself a pet home.
He's a fun-loving youngster, who settles well with pets. Just a wonderful youngster who should do well for his new people. So a family member had a work gig in Chatham this morning so I tagged along (actually... i needed to drive so preparations could be finished). And I had a gal contact me about this happy little dude. I've been calling him Ene (short for Energizer) as he's a happy, friendly BUSY boy. While siblings would be calmly sniffing around he'd be bopping around, doing binkies and running circles around them. After letting him wear off his energy he always settled well for me and I could let him be a pocket bunny once in a while. :)
His new family decided Gus suited this kit from Beauty and Arrow. He was born on July 15 as part of a litter of seven. He was the only one of the three tiny ones in that litter to survive and he proved he has a lot of gumption. IF I had needed another boy, Ene/Gus would have stayed, as I simply adored this tiny busy boyo. I am DELIGHTED that he has a lovely family to call his own. The harlequin girl, part of a litter of seven, off Beauty and Arrow headed off to her new home with half sister from Gracie and Arrow born on June 29. The sable point is out of a litter of six.
The sable point should mature to a smaller size than the harlequin. She is a quiet girl but knows her own mind and doesn't like being pushed into anything. The harlequin, out of a brood sized doe will most likely mature to around 4 lbs. She's a happy girl, who likes to jump but is somewhat cautious in her approach to life around her. These two young ladies went off to their new home last Saturday. Off Beauty and Arrow, born on July 15. Sweet young ladies who should please their new people.
Tricolour girl was born June 17 to Pria and Arrow, part of a litter of four. A quiet lass who is first to say hi to me in the mornings.
Tort girl was born June 30 to Webb and Timer, part of a litter of six. A happy gregarious girl with a penchant for trouble. :) Kiki is a June 17 kit from Pria and Arrow, Everest is a July 15 kit from Beauty and Arrow. So they are half-sibs in a way! :) Anyways, their owners (mom and child) met me at the Honda dealership yesterday as I was in for a service there.
Kiki has never been a strong kit but in the last week he surprised me by growing! He is now the same size as Everest and really enjoys eating! I was delighted to see him come along so nicely. He was part of a litter of four. Everest is a quiet lass. part of a litter of seven. A lovely youngster who should do well in her new home. These three boys Thunder, Thomas and Jerry are off to the same home. The two boys above (Thunder and Thomas) are brothers off Elly and Timer. Born June 30. Part of a litter of six. This little guy has show potential. A nice young fellow out of a litter of four from Gracie and Arrow. He was born June 29. These two GirlsThese two girlies went to two separate homes. Both are off Elly and Timer. Born June 30. Out of a litter of six. This latter girl is Penelope. At last report
She got all settled in and is finally relaxing now (went to check on her and she was flopped). She ate some parsley I gave her to help her tummy since she hasn't pooped yet. Hopefully that helps She's pretty nervous about getting pet right now (gave me a big thump when I tried hahaha!) so I'm just leaving her alone to calm down and relax some more :) I can already tell she's going to have a big personality!!! Her new person is absolutely correct, she will have a mind of her own, but will settle with time. I can't remember if I wanted to repeat this breeding, or if Pria just has a fondness for Arrow (it happens). But ... we have three kits! They are big kits and I'm contemplating fostering Shen's kits over as she's a bit of a lazy feeder. Or even alternating them every other day as Pria produces lots of milk for her kits and is a brood-sized doe. Watch Me GrowBeauty kindled with more kits than I expected ranging from tiny to average is size. Seven in all. Looks a good mix in solid and broken. Hoping to improve type, and if I get chocolate tort... TOTAL bonus! :) Watch Me Grow |
AuthorI have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards. For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
