Kovu moved into the home of a new breeder Feb 5. This young man is just dipping his feet into the world of pedigreed rabbits. He has a young magpie doe he wants to use her with when she grows up a bit. Beauty and Scout moved into a home that said they would be a "pet home" but I was skeptical since she wanted pedigrees as well. The images she sends have them running together consistently. I expect in a month or so I'll hear about babies born. I did offer her good advise.... So it's up to her right?

So a family member had a work gig in Chatham this morning so I tagged along (actually... i needed to drive so preparations could be finished). And I had a gal contact me about this happy little dude. I've been calling him Ene (short for Energizer) as he's a happy, friendly BUSY boy. While siblings would be calmly sniffing around he'd be bopping around, doing binkies and running circles around them. After letting him wear off his energy he always settled well for me and I could let him be a pocket bunny once in a while. :)
His new family decided Gus suited this kit from Beauty and Arrow. He was born on July 15 as part of a litter of seven. He was the only one of the three tiny ones in that litter to survive and he proved he has a lot of gumption. IF I had needed another boy, Ene/Gus would have stayed, as I simply adored this tiny busy boyo. I am DELIGHTED that he has a lovely family to call his own. The harlequin girl, part of a litter of seven, off Beauty and Arrow headed off to her new home with half sister from Gracie and Arrow born on June 29. The sable point is out of a litter of six.
The sable point should mature to a smaller size than the harlequin. She is a quiet girl but knows her own mind and doesn't like being pushed into anything. The harlequin, out of a brood sized doe will most likely mature to around 4 lbs. She's a happy girl, who likes to jump but is somewhat cautious in her approach to life around her. These two young ladies went off to their new home last Saturday. Off Beauty and Arrow, born on July 15. Sweet young ladies who should please their new people.
Kiki is a June 17 kit from Pria and Arrow, Everest is a July 15 kit from Beauty and Arrow. So they are half-sibs in a way! :) Anyways, their owners (mom and child) met me at the Honda dealership yesterday as I was in for a service there.
Kiki has never been a strong kit but in the last week he surprised me by growing! He is now the same size as Everest and really enjoys eating! I was delighted to see him come along so nicely. He was part of a litter of four. Everest is a quiet lass. part of a litter of seven. A lovely youngster who should do well in her new home. My friend Karen gave me a holler the other day about a bunny she was thinking of getting. I told her I had a bunny here for her. I was waffling on which one to keep if any. A gal in Brampton wanted one but we couldn't find a safe way to get her there, so Karen got miss Chocolate instead. So far one of the grandkids thinks she could be called Sparkles. I think it's a great name, but we'll have to see what comes of it eh?
Sparkles is a May 1st baby out of Beauty and Moose. She was part of a litter of five. She carries otter through her dad, with chocolate on both sides. She's a bit smaller than the broken chocolate I'm most interested in but that one might have a home! Time will tell for sure eh? She should settle into a quietly busy gal as an adult. She would probably benefit from some trick training to keep her mind active. :) I will most likely breed her to a half-sib in October (Provided he's interested at that time). Beauty kindled with more kits than I expected ranging from tiny to average is size. Seven in all. Looks a good mix in solid and broken. Hoping to improve type, and if I get chocolate tort... TOTAL bonus! :) Watch Me GrowA May 1st boy off Beauty and Moose, this smart youngster will benefit from some trick training to keep his mind busy.
He is a busy social boy who likes people, loves food, and positively likes to be busy exploring the world. A five foot condo is awaiting him at this new home in Harriston. Broken Chocolate is his colour, and holland lop is his breed. I expect him to mature around 3.8 lbs much like his daddy. This busy boy off Beauty and Moose found his way into a new home today. He'll be joining this fellow as part of young family.
Beauty raises confident busy youngsters who are friendly with their people and love to keep busy. This youngster is no exception to that. He is part of a litter of five. I advised his new people to look into trick training him as this boy is smart and active. He'll keep up well with the young man who choose him. An older sister will lend support. Five kits born to this duo. Broken and solid kits from what I can tell thus far. A well made nest, doing a good job thus far. Watch Me Grow |
AuthorI have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards. For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
