Watch Me Grow
Parents Step and Oscar produced a litter of seven. These two kiddos headed off to Mississauga today. The black, is now called Jakey, the buck is still waiting his new name.
The doe is a laid back, watch and observe before committing to action type of lass. Loves her hay and grains. She's fluffy without being fuzzy.
The boy is a curious lad who totally chills when brushed out. He digs into pellets as soon as offered. He is a woolie but I don't know how his baby wool will hold up over time.
Funny how siblings can be so different eh?
So this lovely family came out last night to see my bunnies. A young lady wanted a bunny to call her own. She oohed and ahhed over my littles. She narrowed it down to two, and then wanted to think about it and talk with her dad.
An hour later, a choice was made, a decision made to meet after church confirmed.
Step had a litter of seven with a new to me buck named Oscar. Most of them were fuzzies, but this little fellow has a softer coat, but basically normal. Born Oct 3, 2020.
His colour is black japanese, he is torted (dark nose).
He's a soft-tempered boy, acting a lot like his momma. I expect he'll grow up to be a very easy-going adult.
Sometimes you write down breeding dates even if you don't see a connection happen. Sometimes it pans out. Oscar who seemed a fairly useless buck (one testicle, and no action despite a lack of trying) ended up not being so useless.
Step had a litter of seven kits!

Going camping met that a young lady who lived four hours away from where I was going, could actually connect with me. Her momma actually did the connecting due to work commitments, but six bunnies made their way to her. From what her momma said, a couple of these youngsters would in turn be making their way to other bunny people.
Bunny transport at it's best eh? :)
Three brothers off Step and Band. July 13.
Andy from SunnyHeights (Asia's Brother) July 8
Tip's girl off Band. July 6.
Heart and Keeper girl from July 22.
Born to Step and Band, this black boy out of a litter of seven was born on July 13. A well-behaved lad who exhibits a quiet curiousity about the world he lives in. I expect him to mature to about 3 lbs, and be a very steady fellow. He's a fine little holland lop and should prove to be a good bunny for his new person.
Off Step and Band, this July 13 Holland Lop boy was part of a litter of seven.
He is the darker of the two broken torts, but I actually think this fellow might be a tricolour with a fair amount of smut. Either way, he'll be a handsome fellow when he matures. I expect he'll finish at just shy of 3.5 lbs.
This silly girl pulled an extra nest of fur this morning leaving me all excited, only to discover an empty nest of fur. What a bummer.
Later in the day she decided to surprise me with a litter of seven. Five normal, one small and one hinting at the double dwarf gene. Time will tell. Hopefully this litter will contain a kit I want to hold back.

Sweet Boys new owner came to pick him up today. This lovely even-tempered lad was starting to win my heart since he's such a good boy. :) But he has new hearts to win over now which is the best!
He was born on April 9, 2020, to Step and Calypso. His colour is black Japanese. He is a purebred Holland Lop.
His name is now Nico. Doesn't he look all handsome in his new digs? :)
I have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards.
For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
