Panda from Heart and Band. Born Oct 3
Temi and Vip from Puddle and Band. Born Oct 15
Sprinkles, is off to a Tricolour breeding program.
This little girl, part of a litter of six, off Heart and Band went off to her new home today. She'll be joining a bunny household, living the life of luxury as a pet. She was born on Oct. 3. She struggled a bit being raised with two litters combined as one, but she's recently gone through a growth spurt. She learned developed a HUGE love of hay and mixed grains and learned how to push her way through to the middle (where don't we all know the best hay is?).
I expect she'll be a lot like her momma when she grows up. A supersweet girlie with a love of apple bits and ear rubs.
Six kits born to this duo. A lovely litter though she was a very funny girl. I gave her two nestboxes since she was building a nest in the corner. She pulled ALL the straw out of one box, the other box was stuffed full and she had her kits in the empty box. Such a silly girlie.
Watch Me Grow
Going camping met that a young lady who lived four hours away from where I was going, could actually connect with me. Her momma actually did the connecting due to work commitments, but six bunnies made their way to her. From what her momma said, a couple of these youngsters would in turn be making their way to other bunny people.
Bunny transport at it's best eh? :)
Three brothers off Step and Band. July 13.
Andy from SunnyHeights (Asia's Brother) July 8
Tip's girl off Band. July 6.
Heart and Keeper girl from July 22.
July 6 boy off Puddle and Calypso, Pud is off to his pet home. From a litter of seven. A sweet natured boy.
A July 22 boy off Heart and Keeper, this inquisitive, good-natured lad might have found himself in a breeder home. Time will tell.
Keeper is finally a dad with a doe who surprised me. Heart did not look or act pregnant beyond pulling one tuft of fur two days ago. And she had her kits, all quiet like, while I was taking pictures of the other babies.
Watch Me Grow
Even though Heart is pictured on grey above, she finally decided that she WAS a girl even though she's been playing at being a buck for the past two months.
Anyways, she's old enough to be bred and has been acting all hormonal girlie for the past week but she didn't like Calypso who I wanted to pair her with. She constantly ran away from him. Acted like he was the worst thing in the entire world that she's ever met. (poor old boy)
So I figured I'd put her with Band who she promptly bossed around (which tend to make Band a bit mean and I didn't want either rabbit hurt) so I said "okay, now what?".
I really had no desire to breed her to Keeper but figured, well.. maybe.. just maybe she wants a young boy. She LOVES him. Oh my. That went so quickly this morning.
So sometimes, even though we have our own plans, our bunnies make their own.
If the doe you want to breed with a certain buck won't... try her with a different one. Sometimes they really do have their own minds about things.
It has me wondering if Flower is holding out for HER own choice as well.....
I have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards.
For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
