Chia has gone on to grace the home of WC Rabbitry. I hope she does well for her new people.
June 9 boys off Chia and Omega found their own into new homes.
Just two kits in the litter, both boys were fostered to Webb as momma (first time trial) had no clue what to do with her babies.
The otter is the smaller of the two, a nice easy-going kit. The chestnut likes to sit up pretty and is the more serious of the two.
Chia had a litter of four kits this morning, born earlier than I anticipated. One was found DOA, another peanut died sometime time afternoon, and so we have two left.
Chia failed miserably at her first litter and her two survivors were fostered to Webb. I bred her alongside Beauty....but so far Beauty hasn't kindled. I'm hoping by morning she will have. If so, I might foster Chia's kits to Beauty. Fingers crossed though that Chia will do her job.
She's done two things better this time than last. She pulled fur! And she mostly cleaned off her kits. So steps in the right direction for sure!
I have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards.
For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
