I decided to try her with a different buck.... and it took a couple of tries but we have FOUR babies! Little chonkers they are, all light coloured. Expected all to be harlequin or tricolour. AJ is a VERY lightly marked chocolate harlequin so I'm hoping to get chocolate tri out of these two. :) Time will tell!
I originally not planned for AJ to have another litter. I'd been breeding her specifically to one buck and wasn't keen on the offspring overall, and thought she should move into a pet home. I had a gal interested who ... well... that just didn't work out. They started with this bunny. A random dwarf from an auction. They added my little shy guy from Arti and Bradley. Born July 21 from a litter of four. Nervous in new situations, once he settles down he's a careful watcher. I'm really curious if he'll be more like his mom who is very alert to everything, or a more gregarious type like his pops. I rather suspect, that with time and growing into his confidence, he'll like his dad but more aware of what's going on around him. But because he's still young and needs to grow into his confidence yet, his people though a slightly younger girl, closer to his size, might be of benefit to him. so... This July 4 girlie off Jelly and Bradley moved off to join him. This little girlie exudes confidence. I really really like this little rabbit. She's friendly, easy-going, and is so much like her momma she delights my heart. I hope that she will delight the hearts of her new people. I ALMOST decided to keep her.... so be delighted with her new people. She's a little gem. Her colour is broken chocolate otter.
Four kits born to this duo. Frankie is a good momma, and Caper is a very sweet tempered clean boy, I'm hoping this duo will produce small, clean babies with excellent temperaments. Four in this litter. Should all be harlequin or tri. Watch Me GrowMy Little boy Alecks is FINALLY a dad! Berry is mom of his first four babies. I'm looking forward to watching them grow. I expected more brokens as Alecks is light on colour, but I'm happy that he has kits growing. :) GACK! Two more babies showed up the next day! Go figure that eh! :) Watch Us GrowSully is the son of Arti and Bradley born on July 21. He is part of a litter of four. One black otter sibling didn't make it to weaning, but his surviving siblings were black and broken fawn. He is a dwarf rabbit.
He's mid-range in the temperament of the litter. The girl I think will be kind, but bossy like her momma, but more settled overall. the black boy is VERY laid back to the point of almost being shy. And this lad is between the two... laid back, but inquisitive. He'll do well in a pet home. This young lady off Komet and Omega is out of a litter of three. Her surviving sister is black otter in colour, this young lady is broken chestnut. Both of her parents are small so I don't expect her to exceed three pounds at maturity.
Born on July 21st I almost decided to keep this one but was convinced to keep her sister instead. She's a slightly pushy girl, I expect her to be a lot like her dad, a confident bunny, with a gentle easy-going spirit. A litter of six born to Cindy this morning while I was doing chores. A good mix of colour in the box, time will tell for sure exactly what will come up. I'm hoping for shorter bodied kits. Watch Me GrowSquirt, also known as boy 3, left for his new home today. His owner had previously gotten a look alike from me about 10 years ago and decided it was time to get a new one. This young guy is a Cindy and Caper lad out of a litter of six. Siblings included tricolour and harlequin.
This little harlequin coloured holland lop was born on June 15. He's a sweet-tempered boy and I expect him to grow up to be a lot like his dad. An easy-going boy who adores his food and people. This fantastic boy out of Gem and Noah born on May 28 moved into his new home Wednesday afternoon.
Born into a litter of seven his litter included the colours of Pointed, black, chocolate otter, and blue. His parents are calm bunnies and never raised a fuss about anything. This boy takes after his dad in demeanour, a cute lad with a laid back personality. Noah is a purebred Netherland dwarf and Gem is a dwarf type bunny. A Litter of six (one is a peanut) born to this first time mom. As much as I don't like having peanuts born, it does show that both parents are true dwarf rabbits. A litter that is tricolour and harlequin. Carrot is doing an excellent job as a first time mom. Watch Me Grow |
AuthorI have been breeding rabbits for a quite a few years. I thoroughly enjoy them as animals and think they make great pets. I also like to take some of them to rabbit shows to see how they measure up to the standards. For the BEST rabbit forum I've ever found. Go to Rabbittalk.com. Good for the pet rabbit owner as well as the breeder for meat or show.
